In 1531, a "Lady from Heaven" appeared to Juan Diego in Mexico and made a request for a church to be built.
When the local bishop requested a sign, she sent Juan to pick roses even though it was mid-December.
When Juan presented the roses, the bishop was astonished to see that she had also left an image of herself
miraculously imprinted on Juan's mantle. |
